Funeral services for Hosea Julian Beasley, II will be at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 4, 2014, at Zion Hill Church, 312 Hunter St, Pineville, LA, with the Rev. Henry J. Williams officiating. Burial with military honors will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery under the Direction of Boyce Community Funeral Home. Hosea J. Beasley, II, age 83, of Alexandria, LA, at approximately 8:40 a.m., on the morning of December 25, 2013, in his residence, made the final journey home to be with his Lord & Savior Jesus Christ. Mr. Beasley was a distinguished band director, renowned in Texas and Louisiana. He taught generations of students over his lifetime, serving over forty years across a variety of schools. He served his country well for eight years in the military, retiring as a Captain from the Army in 1960. He was a lifetime member of the Alpha Phi Alpha fraternity and a founding member of the Epsilon Psi Lambda chapter. He was preceded in death by two sons: David H. Beasley & Hosea J. Beasley, III. He is survived by nine sons: Ronald (Vera) Beasley, Pineville, LA; Bobbie Ray (Gloria) Beasley, Brentwood, NY; Roland (Lorrine) Beasley, Mount Holly, NC; Melvin (Juanita) Beasley, LaPlace, LA; Charles (Enrica) Beasley, Brandywine, MD; Andre Beasley, Alexandria, LA; Gerald (Connie) Beasley, Shreveport, LA; Bryan Beasley, Dallas, TX; and Kevin (Liz) Beasley, Lake Charles, LA. He is survived by seven daughters: Janice Beasley, Alexandria, LA; Francis (David) Pierson, Warner Robins, GA; Michelle (Russell) Roberts, Shreveport, LA; Lisa (Isaac) Gooden, Atlanta, GA; Gwendolyn (Clarence) McCue & Yvette (Eddie) Stewart, Alexandria, LA, and Pamela Beasley, Dallas, TX. Public viewing will be held from 8:00 - 9:30 a.m. and after the service end at Zion Hill Church. Flowers/florals may be sent to the church.
