Hubert E. Butch Cormier, 85, of Bevil Oaks, died Thursday, May 24, 2012. He was born September 9, 1926, in Lafayette, Louisiana, to Hortense Doucet Cormier and Joseph Lucien Cormier, and had been a resident of the Beaumont area for many years. Butch was a United States Navy veteran, having served in World War II, and was employed with the Texas Department of Transportation. Survivors include his children, Rhea Cormier of Lafayette, Louisiana; Hubert Ernie Cormier, Jr. of Katy; Robert Glenn Cormier and his wife, Joyce of Kountze; and Beverly Landis and her husband, Jimmy of Rockdale; grandchildren, David Desormeaux and Amber Desormeaux, both of Lumberton; and Hubert Hugh E. Cormier III of Katy; and sister, Geraldine Dosier and her husband, Daryl of Jennings, Louisiana. He is preceded in death by his parents; son, Harry Lucien Cormier; and wives, Phyllis Cormier and Barbara Cormier. A Rosary will be recited for Mr. Cormier at 1:30 p.m., with his funeral service to follow at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, May 26, 2012, at Broussard's, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. Entombment will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park, 3900 Twin City Highway, Groves.
