Jack Anthony Carona, 75, of Port Neches, died Saturday, December 8, 2012, at Christus Hospital, St. Mary, Port Arthur. He was born on July 25, 1937, to Rose and Sam Carona, in Port Arthur, and had been a lifelong resident of the area. Jack was employed with Ameripo Synpo for thirty-seven years as a supervisor of engineering stores. He enjoyed cooking for his family and spending time with them at the Cove at Crystal Beach. Jack also liked calling Bingo on Friday nights at the Knights of Columbus on 60th Street in Port Arthur. He was a member of Knights of Columbus, Council #1304 for over forty years. Survivors include his children, Jackie Belaire and her husband, Craig, of Nederland; Lisa Walker and her husband, Troy, of Friendswood; Susan Rivers and her husband, Curtis, of Beach City; Marc Carona of Lumberton; and Jon Carona of Port Neches; brother, Joe Carona and his wife, Gwen, of Beaumont; sister, Ginger Fanette and her husband, Kenneth, of Nederland; grandchildren, Deanna Rivers of New Braunfels; Melissa Rivers of Beach City; Amy Belaire Stafford and her husband, Sam, of Houston; Abby Belaire of Nederland; Alec and Alyse Walker of Friendswood; Gillian and Jaci Carona of Port Neches; and Frankie and Payton Carona of Woodville; and numerous nieces, nephews and other family members. Jack is preceded in death by his parents. A gathering of Mr. Carona's family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m., with a Christian Vigil to begin at 6:30 p.m., Monday, December 10, 2012, at Broussard's, 505 North 12th Street, Nederland. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 11, 2012, at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church, 2006 Nall Street, Port Neches, with interment to follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park, Groves.
