Jack D. Turner, 82, of Beaumont, died Tuesday, November 6, 2012, at Harbor Hospice, Beaumont. He was born on June 17, 1930, in Wauchula, Florida, to Marie Whidden Turner and Carlos Turner, Sr. Jack served his country in the Merchant Marines and retired from Southwestern Laboratories as an assistant manager. He was a longtime member of Westgate Church of Christ. Jack is survived by his wife of eighteen years, Elera Turner; daughter, Sharron Williams and her husband, Reid, of Pearland; grandchildren, Jason Reid Williams and Rachael Ann Williams, both of Pearland; great-granddaughters, Sandra Kay Frank and Reid Mackenzie Baldy; brother, James Elmo Turner and his wife, Shirley; step-sons, Randy Powell of Weslaco and Rick Powell and his wife, Lillibeth, of Pueblo, Colorado; and step-daughter, Connie Hoadley and her husband, Hank, of Port Elizabeth, South Africa. He is preceded in death by his first wife, Reba Dell Looney Turner; and son, William Glenn Turner. A gathering of Mr. Turner's family and friends will be from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m., Thursday, November 8, 2012, at Broussard's, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. His funeral service will be 10:30 a.m., Friday, November 9, 2012, at Westgate Church of Christ, 6390 Westgate Drive, Beaumont, with interment to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Beaumont.
