1928 - 2015 Jacob Maurer, age 86, passed away on Sunday, August 30, 2015 in Silsbee, Texas. Services will be at 2:30 PM on Friday, September 4, 2015 at North End Baptist Church with Rev. David Goolsby officiating. Entombment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 PM on Thursday, September 3, 2015 at Forest Lawn Funeral Home. Jacob was born on September 21, 1928 to the late Jacob John Maurer and Pauline Kruger Maurer. He retired from the United States Air Force after serving a little over 21 years. While stationed in Japan, he and his wife Helen, helped start the First Baptist Church of Tokyo. He was preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, Helen Maurer, two brothers; David Maurer and John Maurer and three sisters; Elizabeth Stolton, Martha Battersby and Ruth Cooper. Survivors include his children; Michael Ray Maurer and his wife Frances of Beaumont, TX, Paulette Marie Anthon of Alvarado, TX, Vernette Eve Goza of Lewisville, TX and Carol Ann Cawley and her husband Chris of Newton Le Willows United Kingdom. One sister, Margarete Bazman and her husband Leo of Michigan. As well as 19 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren and 22 great great grandchildren. Memorials may be made to the Disabled American Veterans at www.dav.org
