Jacquelene Klein Cowart, 85, of Nederland, Texas, died Wednesday, February 6, 2013. She was born October 20, 1927 in Beaumont, Texas, the daughter of Lurlene Seale Klein and Jack E. Klein, of Beaumont, Texas. Jackie graduated from Beaumont High School and attended Lamar University. She worked for Gulf States Utilities. One day as Jackie was walking through downtown Beaumont on Liberty street, Roy Cowart glanced up and saw this 'long-legged beauty' and inquired about her. The rest is history and they were married 1951. They resided in Nederland, Texas. Jackie's legacy will be continued and remembered by her husband, Roy Cowart, of Nederland, Texas, and her two children, Steven Cowart of Bulverde, Texas, and Cheryl Cowart Davis of Austin, Texas; her four grandchildren, Cody Cowart, Mikael Cowart and Taylor Cowart of Bulverde, Texas and Spencer Davis of Austin, Texas, and Brandon Davis; sister, Geraldine 'Jodi' Rucquoi of Branford, Connecticut, and brother, Robert W. Klein of Edmond, Oklahoma. Jackie carried a beautiful servant heart of love. Her creativity was displayed in her love of crafts and in her home where she enjoyed her family so much. Jackie was often found working in her yard that she loved to tend. Celebration memorial services will be held Saturday, February 9, 2013 at 2:00 PM at Wesley United Methodist Church, 3515 Helena Ave, Nederland, Texas. Family will be available starting at 1PM, reception following the service.
