James J Shannon, Jr 1952-2015 James Joseph Shannon, Jr. passed away on Friday, December 11, 2015 after suffering a heart attack. He was born on November 25, 1952 in Pascagoula, MS, to James and Shirley Kilpatrick Shannon. James was preceded in death by his wife, Susie LeBlanc Shannon, second wife, Linda Cobb Shannon, his father, and his brother, Charles. Left to cherish his memory are his mother, his fiancée, Courtney Gobel, his sisters, Cynthia Davis (Bill), Ann Falloure (Jack), and Betsy Bales (Malcolm), his brothers, John Shannon (Tiffany), Patrick Shannon (Nastasya) and T Sean Shannon (Kitty) and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. In 1987, Jim was selected for the jury of the Pennzoil vs Texaco trial. This led him to write the book Texaco and the Ten Billion Jury. Over the years Jim wrote and received awards for many alternative papers beginning with Little Red Schoolhouse in the 1960's, and ending with the Examiner. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, December 15th at Rao's Bakery, 4440 Dowlen Road, Beaumont, TX. From 5 - 8 p.m. Donations in Jim's memory may be made to the
