Janet Crowder Girolamo, 73, passed away Tuesday, October 15, 2013. She was born January 17, 1940 in Houston, TX. She grew up in Beaumont, TX graduated from St. Anthony High School and Lamar University. Janet is survived by her loving husband of 49 plus years, this November 28th would have been their 50th wedding anniversary; also by her sisters: Carolyn Rice (Greenville, SC) and Teresa Hagan (Los Angeles, CA); daughters: Lisa Paulger (Jax, FL) and Lynn Layfield (Jax, FL); and her three grandchildren: Billy Paulger (age 12), Sean Layfield (age 11) and Corey Layfield (age 9), who brought her much joy in life. Janet was a talented Interior Designer and Event Planner. She was most famous for her 20 plus year hosting of the ultimate Super Bowl party. She was a volunteer on both the McCain and Romney campaigns. She enjoyed tennis and served multiple years as the city team captain and hosted the also famous end of year tennis luncheon. She enjoyed spending time with her close friends playing Canasta and Bunko. A celebration gathering will be held Monday, October 21st in Quinn-Shalz, Funeral Home of Jacksonville Bch, from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. The Memorial Mass will be held Tuesday, October 22nd in St. Paul's Catholic Church, 224 North 5th Street Jacksonville Bch, Florida 32250 at 10 am. A reception will follow in the hall. The family would like to send a special thanks to all of the caring nurses and doctors at the Baptist Heart Hospital. Janet requested for her humor to be shared with others after she passed.
