Jay Jones, 60, of Silsbee, was born on March 5, 1952, to Ester Aaron Jones and Jewel Ralph Jones. Born and raised in Beaumont, he was a 1970 graduate of South Park High School. Jay settled into a career in auto sales and is said to have been able to sell a ketchup popsicle to a lady in white gloves. He was an avid outdoorsman, fishing being his greatest passion. With the birth of his four children, Jay became actively involved in Lumberton sports, as both a supportive, encouraging parent and a coach. Jay's one-of-a-kind personality will remain unforgettable to all that knew him. Survivors include his sons, Blake Jones of Silsbee; Seth Jones and his wife, Ashleigh, of Lumberton; and Logan Jones of Beaumont; daughter, Jenna Jones of Tacoma, Washington; sister, Ruby Jewell Hale and her husband, Don, of Port Neches; and grandchildren, Haden Gilley, Rainey Blake Jones, Laikynn Jones, and Acelynn Jones. A gathering of Mr. Jones' family and friends will begin at 4:30 p.m., with his memorial service at 6:00 p.m., Saturday, June 9, 2012, at Broussard's, 490 Cemetery Road, Silsbee.
