Funeral services for Jimmy Charles Parker, 73, of Plum Ridge, near Jasper, will be 2:00 p.m., Sunday, August 25, 2013, at Stringer & Griffin Funeral Home in Jasper, with burial to follow at Speirs Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m., Saturday, August 24th, at the funeral home. Jimmy died August 22nd at his home in Plum Ridge. He was a native of Whitehall, Arkansas, and retired as Senior Master Chief in U.S. Navy. After retiring from the Navy, he moved to Plum Ridge and has lived there for the past 17 years. Survivors include wife, Brenda Parker of Plum Ridge; two daughters, Janice Faye Parker Jordan of Louisville, KY & Juliet Elaine Parker of Meridian, MS; one stepson, Stephen Tomplait of Sour Lake; four step-daughters, Angie Tomplait & Alicia Jones and husband, Jason both of Kirbyville, Angie Gee of Lufkin & Carla Stacey of Plum Ridge; brother, Larry Parke; & sister, Linda Parker Baker of Hollandale, MS; fifteen grandchildren & five great grandchildren. He was predeceased by Mr. and Mrs. W.G. Parker; Mary Roberts; and wife, Anne.
