Johnnie Ray Bonner, 87, of Kirbyville died Sunday, March 2, 2014 in Buna. Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 5, at Call Junction Baptist Church with burial at Campground Cemetery under the direction of Adams EE Stringer Funeral Home in Kirbyville. Visitation will be from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at the church. A native of Evadale, she attend Silsbee High School where she played basketball and was in the band. She graduated from Lamar as a Licensed Vocational Nurse and worked for Baptist Hospital in Beaumont, Buna Medical Center, and Dr. Erlinda Tan. She is survived by her husband of 71 years, Charles Elvin Bonner of Kirbyville; sons, Charles Ray Bonner and wife Janet of Kirbyville; Jimmy Don Bonner and wife Jeannie of Buna; Rickey Lynn Bonner and wife Vicki of Kirbyville; David Allen Bonner and wife Debra of Kirbyville; and Billy John Bonner and wife Lori of Jasper; a daughter, Carol Sue Bonner Langford and husband Robert of Evadale; a brother, Rufus Tanton of Evadale; 9 grandchildren, 7 step- grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren, 17 step-great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, John Rufus and Emma Tanton; a grandson, Jeff Cucancic; and a sister, Ruby Gravis.
