Leatrice Sonnier, 80, of Port Acres, died on Saturday, October 13, 2012, at Mid-Jefferson Hospital in Nederland. She was born on February 21, 1932, to Rita Fontenot Fuselier and Leon Fuselier in Elton, Louisiana. Mrs. Sonnier retired from St. Mary Hospital, after twenty years of service. She enjoyed traveling and spending time at the camp in Toledo Bend. Family and friends will remember her as an excellent cook. Survivors include her husband of sixty-six years, Ernest Coonie Sonnier; son, Ernest Cookie Sonnier, Jr. and his wife, Jane of Fannett; daughter, Dianna Wright and her husband, Richard of Port Acres; six grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; and a host of extended relatives and friends. A gathering of Mrs. Sonnier's family and friends will be from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., with a Rosary recited at 6:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 16, 2012, at Broussard's, 505 12th Street, Nederland. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 17, 2012, at St. Therese the Little Flower of Jesus Catholic Church, 6412 Garnet Avenue, Port Arthur, Texas, with interment to follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park, Groves.
