Leon Edward Watts, 88, of Baytown, TX, passed away on Tuesday, September 25, 2012, at Harbor Hospice in Beaumont. He was born on January 26, 1924, to parents, Leon Joseph and Annie Laura Watts. Edward served in the Army during World War II, in which he was awarded numerous medals and 3 bronze stars. He retired from Halliburton after working there for twenty-six years. He bought a farm in Kirbyville and retired there. He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Barbara Jones Watts of Baytown. Survivors include his children: daughter, Barbara Buchanan and husband, Jimmy of San Antonio, Texas; a son, Joseph Watts and wife, Jeanette of Baytown, Texas; a daughter, Carol Cooper and husband, David of Burleson, Texas; a son, Mark Watts and wife, Diane of Gilmer, Texas; ten grandchildren; a brother, George Watts of Beaumont; and a sister, Rose Higginbotham of Beaumont. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Joe Watts, Porter Watts, Harold Watts; and a sister, Callie Kulp. A gathering of family and friends will be held Friday, September 28, 2012 from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m., at Forest Lawn Funeral Home. Funeral services for Mr. Watts will begin at 10:00 a.m., with interment to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
