Lester Bo Brackin, 91, of Kirbyville, Texas, died Wednesday, May 23, at his home. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m., Saturday, May 26, at Adams EE Stringer Funeral Home in Kirbyville, with burial at Kirbyville Cemetery. Visitation will be 4:00 to 8:00 p.m., Friday, at the funeral home. Lester was born in Pineland, Texas, on July 2, 1920, to Ollie Carr and Asiah H. Brackin. He graduated from Kirbyville High School in 1937. He married the love of his life, Edna Bryant in 1942. He served in the Army Air Corp from 1940 to 1945, in Europe, as a plane mechanic. Lester retired from Texas U S Chemical Co, after 36 years. After retirement, he pursued his love of gardening, raising cattle, cooking, and spending time with grandchildren. Lester was a member of the Kirbyville United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Edna; brothers, Dalton and Herman; sisters, Bertie Mae Whitehead, Ruby Myrick, and Mertie Lee Seals. Survivors include daughter, Beverly Moody and husband, Pat of Weslaco, TX; son, Kenneth Brackin and wife, Shirley of Burkeville, TX; grandchildren, Bryant Moody and wife, Dana of Houston, Mark Moody of Denver, CO, Kyle Brackin of Austin, and Katy Hopkins and husband, Roman of Kirbyville; great-grandchildren include Brendan, Collin, Megan, and Ethan Moody of Houston and Ryan and Kaylee Hopkins of Kirbyville.
