1939 - 2015 Lillie Marie Hartman was born to Acklin Joseph and Mary Alice Stinger- Hartman on September 26, 1939 in Beaumont, Texas. She united and was baptized at the Sunlight Missionary Baptist Church under the Pastorate of the late Reverend G.W. Daniels. Lillie attended the Beaumont public schools, where she graduated from Charlton Pollard High School. Lillie was very active and instrumental in the Lunch Counter Sit-ins (A Civil Rights Movement) - throughout the Beaumont area. Lillie married her childhood sweetheart, Mr. Theodis Daniel (nicknamed Baby Boy) in November 13, 1956. Her husband's service in the United States Air Force carried them across the world including North Africa. Upon returning to the States, Lillie joined the Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church under Pastorate of Rev. G.V. Clark in 1979. Later, Lillie became employed at the Internal Revenue Service (IRS). There she served as a Tax Examiner, Trainer and Instructor. She also served with the Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) as an Assistant and Counselor. During her tenure with the EEO Office, she organized and implemented the first Black History Month Observance and Activities at the Austin Campus of the IRS. Her efforts birth the idea of a Gospel Choir and other events. In 1985, Lillie Daniel was asked to serve as Church Secretary for the Mt. Zion MB Church. She faithfully and dutifully administered and served her Pastor, Church, St. John District and State/ National Conventions, until her health fail and she could no longer continue. Lillie Daniel was preceded in death by: Daughter- Priscilla Lynn Daniel, Parents- Joseph and Mary Hartman, Sister- Wentrice Faye Powell and Brother - Joseph Earl Hartman. Leaving to cherish her Precious Memories are: Daughters: Pheena Marie Alexander (Carl) - and Patricia Ann Easley both of Austin, Texas- Sister Beatrice Sias (Ralph) of Houston, Texas and Life-long Friend Theodis Daniel of Austin, Texas. Also a host of other relatives and friends share in precious memories of her. Visitation for Lillie Daniels is Sunday, April 26, 2015- 1pm-6pm at Austin Peel and Son Funeral Home, 607 E Anderson Ln. Austin, TX 78752 where flowers can be sent. Life Celebration Service will be 2:00pm on Monday April 27, 2015 at the Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church, 2938 E. 13th Street, Austin, TX with Pastor G.V. Clark, officiating. Interment will be at Evergreen Cemetery in Austin, Texas. Services entrusted to Dr. Barry J.W.
