Lucille Fussy Roach, 95, of Houston, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 23, 2013, at University Place Retirement Home, Houston, surrounded by her friends. Lucille was born on December 4, 1917, in Beaumont, to Catherine Walsh Roach and Edmund Joseph Roach. Lucille lived her childhood in Beaumont but moved to Houston after graduating from St. Anthony High School. A longtime member of St. Michael Catholic Church, Houston, she was devoted to her family and her Catholic faith. She lived her life with gratitude for her many daily blessings. Lucille was known by all for her gentle manner and her gracious way of treating everyone. She is survived by her cousins, Bernard Roach of Willingboro, New Jersey, Mary Ann Nolan and Katherine Kerbow, both of Houston. She is preceded in death by her parents; and sisters, Mary Frances Sr. and Mary Joseph Roach. A special thanks to her longtime supportive and loving friends, Marion and Roberta; her caregivers, Shirley, Gigi, Susan, and Jennie; and to Comfort Care Hospice Personnel. A gathering of Miss Roach's family and friends will begin at 9:00 a.m., with a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at 10:00 a.m., Friday, July 26, 2013, at St. Michael Catholic Church, 1801 Sage Road, Houston, with Reverend Douglas Guthrie officiating. A graveside service will be 3:00 p.m., Friday, at Magnolia Cemetery, 2291 Pine Street, Beaumont, with Reverend Monsignor William Manger officiating, under the direction of Broussard's, 2000 McFaddin Avenue, Beaumont. Serving as pallbearers will be Michael Phillips, Joseph Patrick DeGeorge, David Schroeder, and Thomas John Mach.
