She continued teaching a Sunday school class, but she went back teaching the adult ladies class until age 80. She loved her church and church family. She also worked at the Western Auto Store until retiring at age 75. Volunteer work followed at the Kountze Library, Christian Loving Care Center, Keenagers, and S.C.A.T. Survivors include her children, Wanda Stratton of Kountze; Linda Stratton and her husband, James and Buddy Silcox and his wife, Julia, all of Winnie; and Reba Bunt of Sour Lake; ten grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; sister, Lil Sheppard of Buna; and brother, Paul Perry and his wife, Dorothy, of Greenville. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Lynn Silcox; brothers, Shelby Leslie and Eugene Leslie; sisters, Ruby Williams and Marie Cooper; and sons-in law, Louis Stratton and Jim Bunt.
