Marion Laborde Hebert Memorial service for Marion Laborde Hebert, 83 of Sam Rayburn, will be 12:00 Noon Saturday March 8, 2014, at St. Raymond's Catholic Church in Sam Rayburn with visitation 11:00 A.M. until service time. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in Marksville, LA at a later date. A Rosary will be recited Friday March 7, 2014 following 8:30 A.M. Mass at St. Raymond Catholic Church in Sam Rayburn. A Native of Marksville, Louisiana she passed away on Monday, March 3, 2014 at Lufkin Memorial Hospital. She was the daughter of the late Dr. Emeric and Minnie Laborde, and was preceded in death by her husband, Hugh Hebert, her daughter Suzy, and her brother, Dr. N. Francis Laborde. Upon finishing her degree in Home Economics from Southwestern Louisiana Institute (U.L.L.), she hosted a cooking TV show in Lake Charles, LA. Many of the recipes came from her mother, Minnie. Mrs. Hebert and her husband moved frequently through the years, living in Sulphur and Lake Charles, LA, Lawrenceville, New Jersey, and finally retiring to Sam Rayburn, TX where they enjoyed fishing, camping, sailing, and golf. Mrs. Hebert was very active in her small mission church, St. Raymond's Catholic Church. Mamou, as she was affectionately called by her family and friends, lived life to the fullest. She especially loved the time she spent with her three grandsons. She was an avid bridge player and belonged to a weekly sewing group that met to crochet and sew. She will be greatly missed by a host of friends, nephews and nieces. She leaves behind her son, Richard, wife Brigitte, and grandsons Etienne, Hugh and Bennett, of New Orleans and two brothers, Dr. Elmo J. Laborde of Lafayette, and Raymond Laborde of Marksville. In lieu of flowers the family ask you to donate to: Epilepsy Foundation New England Donation Center, 335 Main Street, Wilmington, MA 01887. Services are under the direction of Stringer & Griffin Funeral Home of Jasper.
