Michael Neal Kay, 60, of Lumberton, died Wednesday, January 1, 2014, at Christus Hospital St. Elizabeth, Beaumont. He was born on July 19, 1953, in Beaumont, to Maudie Marie Edger Kay and Victor Kay. Michael was employed as a transport driver and was a longtime member of First Baptist Church of Loeb. Survivors include his wife, Sheila Kay; daughter, Shauna Kay Rayls and her husband, Brent, of LaPorte; brothers, Don Kay and his wife, Brenda, of Silsbee; Jimmy Kay and his wife, Donna, of Sour Lake; and David Kay of Mico; sisters, Shirley Hooks and Joe Edward of Nederland; Patsy Barker of Vidor; and Betty Daniels and her husband, Billy, of Jasper; and grandchildren, Kymberly Waugh, Kyleigh Beasley, and Kaden Rayls. He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Victor Kay, Jerry Kay, and Russell Kay; and sister, Gloria Martin. A gathering of Mr. Kay's family and friends will begin at 6:00 p.m., with his memorial service to follow at 7:00 p.m., Monday, January 6, 2014, at First Baptist Church of Loeb, 3082 Highway 69 South, Lumberton, under the direction of Broussard's, 490 Cemetery Road, Silsbee.
