Mike Edd, Sr., 88, of Houston, formerly of Beaumont, died Monday, March 25, 2013, at Select Specialty Hospital, Houston. He was born on September 10, 1924, in Beaumont, to Adele Bosby Edd and Nicholas George Edd. Mike was a United States Army veteran, having served in World War II. After moving to Houston in 1967, he worked and retired from the Houston Chronicle as a printer. Survivors include his wife, Afaf Edd; children, Renee Edd of Houston; Michael Edd, Jr. and his wife, Susan, of Beaumont; Nicholas Edd of Houston; and Lucas Edd of Beaumont; stepchildren: Ali Masry, Abraham Masry, Omar Masry, Jamal Masry, Amer Masry, and Susan Masry; grandchildren, Zachary Edd and Laura Edd, both of Beaumont; several step-grandchildren and step-great-grand children; and many loving family and friends. A gathering of Mr. Edd's family and friends will be from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., with a Trisagion to follow at 7:00 p.m., Thursday, March 28, 2013, at Broussard's, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. His funeral service will be 10:00 a.m., Friday, March 29, 2013, at St. Michael Antiochian Orthodox Christian Church, 690 North 15th Street, Beaumont, with interment to follow St. Michael Orthodox Cemetery, Beaumont.
