1916 - 2015 Myrtie Crutchfield, 98, passed away Friday, May 1, 2015. She lived her life as a devoted Christian wife, mother and grandmother. She was employed as a cashier for several food stores when not being a loving mother to her children. Myrtie was a devoted and faithful Christian, serving as a teacher and other auxiliaries in her church. She faithfully supported different charities and, along with her husband, delivered Meals on Wheels for many years. She enjoyed fishing, golfing, sewing and cooking and looked forward to hosting yearly family reunions. Her ministry and benevolence reached all of her neighbors and she was always ready to serve as needed. Special thank you to Silsbee Convalescent Center and to her caretaker, Sonja Cowart and River City Hospice Care. She is preceded in death by her husband Walter Raymond Crutchfield; daughter, Julia Denice Williams; son, Ottice Van Irvin; parents, John and Mary Smith; great grandson, Micah Williams; siblings, Barney Smith, Donnis Smith and Merton Smith. She is survived by her sons, Walton Irvin and wife Mary Louise of Gonzales, LA and Leslie Irvin and wife Melba of Minneola, TX; son-in-law, Frank Gramon Williams; 9 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren, and 12 great great grandchildren. Her family will receive friends Monday, May 4, 2015 from 9:30 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at Magnolia Assembly of God in Port Neches. The funeral service is scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Monday, May 4, 2015 at Magnolia Assembly of God in Port Neches, officiated by Reverend Brent Williams. Interment will follow at 3:00 p.m. at Tanner Cemetery in Burkeville, TX. Serving as pallbearers are Joel M. Irvin, Matthew Irvin, Vince Gonzalez, Hunter Hall, Jason Crisp, Dustin Boswell and Noah Williams.
