Nancy Graham Watkins October 5, 1925 - April 10, 2012 Born in Boston and raised in northern New Jersey, Nancy transplanted to Beaumont, Texas, in 1960, when DuPont transferred her husband; arriving with three children under the age of four, a fourth soon followed. Nancy embraced the Texas weather and soon made many friends by smiling and greeting everyone she met. Graduating in 1947 from Smith College, she worked at the phone company, until marriage. A housewife and mother, she raised four successful children: a Certified Public Accountant, Architect, City Planner, and College Professor. Her passions were family, friends, church, and golf. Nancy worked for Texas RESTART Program (1984- 1993), training and teaching older adults in job searching skills and RSVP Program (1994-1999), coordinating 400 volunteers, at 65 locations in town. Her positive attitude and love for everyone made her successful in helping others. A member of St. Andrews Presbyterian Church for almost 50 years, Nancy moved to Dallas to be near family. Nancy leaves four loving children, with spouses, and her grandchildren: Lynn Watkins Hunt and David E. Hunt, with Michelle and Leslie of Dallas, TX, Barry F. Watkins of Santa Rosa, CA, Karen E. Watkins of Lynnwood, WA, and Randy K. Watkins and Cara Watkins, with Calla of Alameda, CA. She also leaves so many loved friends and extended family. Nancy loved life and gave joy to so many people. She passed quietly in her sleep, from complications of Alzheimer's disease. The family asks you to celebrate Nancy's life, as no service is planned. In place of flowers or gifts, please feel free to give to St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church at 1350 N 23rd Street, Beaumont, TX 77706. Family will accept written condolences mailed to Lynn Hunt, 3521 Haynie, Dallas, TX 75205.
