1938 - 2015 Nick Charles Dragna, Sr., passed away peacefully at his home in Columbus, OH, on Friday, February 20, 2015, surrounded by his family after a prolonged struggle with PSP, a form of Parkinson's disease. He was 76. His genuine warmth, humor, kindness, smarts and generous spirit will be missed by all who knew him. Until his illness, he stayed active traveling and spending time at his lakeside home enjoying gardening, fishing, exercising, solving crossword puzzles, reading the Economist or just listening and dancing to his favorite '50s music with his wife. He was never one to miss a great meal or a nice bottle of wine. He was born in Beaumont, TX, in October 1938. He and his fraternal twin, Frank, were the youngest of four children born to Charles Dragna and Katherine Danna. He was a member of the St. Anthony High School graduating class of 1956. He continued his studies at Lamar University, graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering in 1963. He married Linda Moss in June 1965. After working in the chemical industry in Beaumont and pursuing an MBA at Lamar, they moved from Beaumont with their young family to further his career as a chemical engineer, living in six states. Nick continued to work as a chemical engineer until retiring in December 2010 at the age of 72. Wherever he lived, Nick was quick to make friends, and he remained close to childhood friends for his entire life. He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Linda; son Nick, Jr., and spouse Paul Smallcomb; son Paul; grandson Benjamin and sister Josephine LeCluyse. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Frank and sister Lily Cormier. Memorial donations in his name can be made to the National Parkinson Foundation (www.parkinson.org).
