Obie Stagg, Sr., 83 passed away on Monday, June 17, 2013 at his home in Beaumont with his loving family. Obie was a native of Beaumont. He proudly served in the U.S. Army. He was a retired foreman with Chevron Refinery. Those left to cherish the memories of Obie are his son, Donald Stagg; daughters, Drusilla O'Brien, Schkeitha Vinson (Donald Ray), and Kelly Stagg; brothers, Leo Stagg, Jr. (Micha) and Murphy Stagg (Fannie); sisters, Ella Mae Landry (James) and Annie Bell Davis (Elam); eight grandchildren and six great grandchildren; loving other family members and friends. Obie was preceded in death by his wife, Romonia Stagg, and sons, Joseph O'Brien and Obie Stagg, Jr. Celebration of Life services for Obie will be held on Saturday, June 22, 2013 at Peaceful Rest Baptist Church located at the corner of Houston St. and Washington Blvd. There will be a visitation from 9:00 a.m. until the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. officiated by Rev. Elmo Chaisson. Obie will began his eternal rest next to his beloved Romonia at Live Oak Memorial Park under the professional care and direction of Comeaux Community Funeral Chapel.
