Opal Benson, 81, of Nederland, died Thursday, April 26, 2012, at Cypress Glen East Nursing and Rehabilitation, Port Arthur. Born May 25, 1930, in Brookeland, to Ruby Lee Bell and Edward Oliver Robbins, she had been a resident of Nederland most of her life. Opal was employed with Sears Roebuck for thirty years before retiring. She was also a member of the Pilot Club and a Girl Scout Leader. Opal leaves behind her son, Alan Benson and his wife, Suzann of Port Neches; daughters, Pam Burris and her husband, Jeff of Nederland and Pat Campbell and her husband, Brian of The Woodlands; grandchildren, Blake Benson, Savanna Benson, Dan Burris and his wife, Randi, Adam Burris, Andrew Burris and his wife, Lauren and K.C. Campbell; and great- grandchild, Sophie Burris. She is preceded in death by her parents; and husband, David W. Benson. A gathering of her family and friends will be from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Friday, May 4, 2012, at Broussard's, 505 North 12th Street, Nederland. A graveside service will be held 2:00 p.m., Saturday, May 5, 2012, at Kirbyville Cemetery, Kirbyville, under the direction of Broussard's. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to
