1933 - 2016 Ottis Hughes, 82, of Kirbyville, Texas passed away Wednesday, April 27, 2016, at his home. Funeral services will be 3:00 p.m. Sunday, May 1, at Central Baptist Church in Kirbyville with burial and Military Honors at Hughes Cemetery in Fawil community in Newton County. Born Oct. 21, 1933 in Jasper, Texas to Noah and Myrtle (Stark) Hughes, he had lived most of his life in Kirbyville and was a retired maintenance supervisor in petrochemical industry. He was also a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict and was a Member of Dewitt Clinton Masonic Lodge #29 in Jasper. Masonic Rites will be conducted by Humble Masonic Lodge #979. Survivors include his wife, Patricia Hughes of Kirbyville; his children, Molly Hughes of Giddings, Scott Hughes of Kirbyville, and Sarah Marion & Scott of Atascocita; brothers, Lawrence Hughes of Mauriceville, Dennie Ray Hughes & Jeanette of Kirbyville, Albert Hughes & Sherry of Spurger, and Floyd Hughes & Linda of Kirbyville; sisters, Avrie Lee Foxworth & Deport of Kountze, and Aline Mora & Glen of Irving; 4 grandchildren, Matthew Heintschel, Seth Hughes & Tristin, Orin Heintschel, and Dalton Marion; and 1 great grandchild, Case Hughes. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the church or .
