1938 - 2014 Patricia Munro Risher, age 75, of Stamford, CT, passed away on July 14, 2014 after a battle with cancer. She was born to the late Marion and Frances Cameron Munro on September 24, 1938 in Dallas, TX. She graduated from Beaumont High School in Beaumont, TX, and went on to Southern Methodist University in Dallas, where she was a member of Chi Omega Sorority. She graduated in 1960 with a degree in Merchandising. After graduating, she worked at Titches Department Store in Dallas, TX where she was a leading Junior Sportswear Buyer. After a successful first date to a Cowboys game with Paul D. Risher, and relationship that followed, they married and lived in New York City in 1965. They moved to the town of Stamford, CT in 1966 to raise their family. She was an active member of the community who enjoyed traveling the world, not only with her husband, but also with the Westhill Chamber Singers and volunteering with the Junior Leagues of Stamford-Norwalk and New York City. She had a life-long love of Broadway, regional theatre, music and the arts. She was an avid reader of an assorted taste of genres, but could frequently be seen curling up with a cookbook to search for her next great recipe. She was passionate about cooking, needlepoint and loved every shopping opportunity. Along with her husband, she was a member of the New York Yacht Club, the Antigua, BWI Yacht Club, the Greenwich Cove Racing Association and Indian Harbor Yacht Club, where her husband is the current Commodore. She had a meaningful role as the wife of the Commodore and preferred to be thought of as the Commodore's Lady. In addition to her husband of 49 years, she is survived by a daughter, Nancy Ward and her husband, Bill of Wilton, CT; a daughter, Cameron Risher of Columbia, SC; three grandchildren, Mackenzie, Jackson and Parker Ward of Wilton, CT; a brother, W. Barton Munro of College Station, TX and a sister, Mary Sue Munro. The family will receive friends on Sunday, July 20, 2014 from 3:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. at Leo P. Gallagher & Son Funeral Home, 31 Arch Street, Greenwich, CT. A memorial service will be held on Monday, July 21, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church of Stamford, 1101 Bedford Street, Stamford, CT. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Westport Country Playhouse, 25 Powers Court, Westport, CT 06880.
