He was the fourth of six children born to Nathan Perry and Ida Lemaire Perry in Kaplan, Louisiana on July 27, 1922. He met and married the love of his life, Nola Faye McElduff in 1947. Paul and Faye were longtime faithful members of North End Baptist and First Baptist Churches of Port Arthur, Texas, where he served as a deacon and Sunday School teacher. He and Faye raised their children in a loving atmosphere of commitment to the Lord. He was known by many professions: plumber, electrician, mechanic, roofer, carpenter, yardman, gardener, in other words, all-around fix-it man. The man known to his grandchildren and great grandchildren as Papaw loved nothing more than to hold those precious children and give them his love through the twinkle in his eyes.
