1923 - 2014 Pauline Haussner Walker was born on September 24, 1923, in East St. Louis, Illinois, went to her heavenly home Friday, December 12, 2014, at Harbor Hospice in Beaumont. She was the daughter of Paul Marberry and Bess Jane Warmack Marberry. Pauline was educated in East St. Louis and graduated from East Side High School in 1941. She went on to Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri, and studied Art and Dress Design. Pauline married her high school sweetheart and the love of her life, Richard Dick Edwin Haussner, in the Methodist church in Medford, Oregon, on January 5, 1944. Dick and Pauline owned and operated Greater Beaumont Real Estate Company until Dick retired in 1985. After Dick's death in 1990, Pauline reentered the real estate field as a salesperson for American Real Estate Company until she retired in 1998. In 1976, the Beaumont Board of Realtors named her Salesman of the Year, an honor that had only been awarded once before. She served on numerous real estate committees on the state, local, and national levels. On November 15, 1991, in San Antonio, Pauline married Marion Lindsey Walker, a lifelong friend of both Pauline and Dick. Pauline was very active for many years in Wisteria Chapter, No. 823, Order of the Eastern Star, where she was a Past Matron. She also served on the State level as Deputy, District Deputy, Grand Electra, Grand Representative from Scotland to Texas. One of her last appointments, which she enjoyed greatly, was Secretary to the Worthy Grand Patron of Texas. Pauline was Past Queen of Ramallah Temple, No. 89, Daughters of the Nile where she was an active member in the Ramallah Clown Unit. She was a member of the Social Order of the Beauceant where she had served as an officer. She also had served as Recording Secretary of the Woman's Club of Beaumont; Chaplain and Recording Secretary of the Col. George Moffet Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution. Pauline also had the distinction of being voted an honorary member of the Daughters of the Republic of Texas. Pauline and Lindsey were both interested in genealogy and they both loved going through old court records and old cemeteries. She was an active member of Wesley United Methodist Church for many, many years and a charter member of the Friendship Bible Class. After their marriage, Lindsey transferred his membership to Wesley where they both actively participated on many committees and in Sunday school and church. Survivors include daughter, Sherrie Haussner Travers and son-in-law, Mack J. Travers; daughter, Pamela Haussner Harvey and son-in-law, Jerry M. Harvey. She is also survived by five granddaughters: Allison Pauline Travers Hamilton and grandson-in-law, Shelby Hamilton; Annilee Georgia Travers Reed and grandson-in-law, Devin Reed; Jana Megan Harvey, Amanda Suzanne Harvey Dale and grandson-in-law, Geoff Dale; Elisa Reh Harvey Lessard and grandson-in-law, Adam Lessard. In addition, she is survived by ten great-grandchildren: great- granddaughters, Reagan Taylor Reed, Ivy Elizabeth Dale, Madelyn Reh Lessard, and Abigail Marberry Hamilton, and great-grandsons, Joshua Coleman Hamilton, Geoffrey Morris Dale, Jackson Patrick Reed, The Donald Christopher Dale, Austin Royce Lessard, and Bradley Kenneth Lessard. A gathering of Mrs. Walker's family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Monday, December 15, 2014, at Broussard's, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. Her funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, December 16, 2014, at Wesley United Methodist Church, 3810 North Major Drive, Beaumont. Her interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Beaumont.
