Phyllis Lavern Taylor, 75, of Orange, passed away Friday, September 13, 2013, in her home. A memorial service will be 6pm, Wednesday, September 18, 2013, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange. Visitation will begin at 5pm, Wednesday at the funeral home. Born in West Columbia, Texas, on July 30, 1938, Phyllis was the daughter of Clyde Leslie Duncan and Judy Skeen Duncan. She had a passion for outdoors and thoroughly enjoyed camping. However, her true love was for her family and really relished being a grandma. Phyllis was preceded in death by her father, Clyde Duncan; daughter, Julia Collett Taylor; and brothers, Jim Duncan, Butch Duncan, and Rick Duncan. She is survived by her husband, James M. Taylor; mother, Julia Judy Duncan; sons, David A. Taylor and wife, Mary, James L. Taylor, Edward D. Taylor, Jerry Oglesbee; grandchildren, Shannel, Dawn, Tasha, Adam, Brandon, Zach, Jason, Joshua, Jordan; 11 great-grandchildren; and brother, Clyde Duncan.
