Richard Pop Fregia, 84, of Honey Island, died Friday, March 29, 2013, at Baptist Hospitals of Southeast Texas, Beaumont. A native of Batson, he was a resident of Honey Island, born on September 28, 1928, to Lena Roth Fregia and Mayo Fregia. He was retired from the maintenance department of Kirby Lumber Company. Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Fregia; children, Richard Allen Fregia and his wife, Carol, all of Honey Island; Donnie Ray Fregia and his wife, Tracie, of Hardin; Sissy Rice and her husband, Robert; Sheila Soileau and her husband, Shawn; Jerry Fregia and his wife, Karen; and Connie Clifton and her husband, Donnie, all of Honey Island; step-son, Larry Wilkerson and his wife, Trish, of Conroe; step-daughter, Joyce Callaway and her husband, David of Brookeland; twelve grandchildren; twenty-six great-grandchildren; and sister, Maude Poland of Honey Island. A gathering of Mr. Fregias family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Sunday, March 31, 2013, at Broussards, 530 West Monroe Street, Kountze. His funeral service will be 2:00 p.m., Monday, April 1, 2013, at Broussards, with interment to follow at William Hart Cemetery, Kountze.
