Richard Kirk Kirkland, 78 of Beaumont passed away on Thursday, August 29, 2012 at Memorial Hermann Baptist Hospital. Richard was a native of Kershaw, South Carolina where he joined the U. S. Navy and served during the Vietnam War, and he is U. S. Navy retired. Kirk as he was known to his family and close friends will be missed by his wife, Gloria Kirkland; son, Cedric Solomon; daughters, Pamela K. Pearson (Mark), Carla Wallace (Reginald) and ReKina Myers (Michael); sister, Yvonne Dyes; seven grandson, three grand-daughters; and a loving host of family members and friends. He was also preceded in death by his daughter, Valerie Lessington. Celebration of Life services for Kirk will be held at The Church of Philadelphia on Tuesday, September 4, 2012, officiated by Pastor Silvann Broussard at 11:00 a.m. The visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. at the church on the morning of the funeral. Kirk will be buried at Live Oak Memorial Park with Military Honors under the professional care and direction of the Comeaux Community Funeral Chapel staff.
