Richard Wayne Mundell, age 73, passed away January 4, 2013 in Beaumont. After graduating from high school in Indiana, Rick enlisted in the United States Navy and spent ten years serving his country with pride as a Naval Aviation Electronics specialist. While serving in the Navy he received the Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal and the National Defense Service Medal. Rick earned an associate degree from Mansfield Business College in 1978 and a bachelor's degree from the University of Lamar in 1988. He was once a member of various car clubs and an active American Mensa member for the past 34 years. One of his hobbies included operating and maintaining a 17 acre Arabian horse farm. A highly intelligent man and an avid reader, Rick enjoyed sharing his knowledge with his friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, and several uncles. He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Mozelle Mundell, his son, Thomas Mundell and wife Darcy of Fayetteville, NC, one brother Lewis Mundell of Frankfort, Indiana, father-in-law and mother-in-law, Johnny and Kathleen Revia and three grandchildren, Kayla Mundell, Cary Mundell , and Katelynn Mundell. A gathering of family and friends will begin on Saturday, January 12, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. with a funeral service to follow at 2:00 p.m. at Parkway Life Church in Lumberton.
