1941 - 2014 Funeral services for Roman Bruce will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, November 6, 2014 in the Chapel of Hixson Brothers, Pineville with Dr. Philip Robertson officiating. Burial will be at Pine Ridge Cemetery, Sour Lake, Texas at 3:00 p.m. The family requests that visitation be observed at Hixson Brothers, Pineville Wednesday, November 5, 2014 from 5:00-9:00 p.m. and continued Thursday from 8:00 a.m. until time of service. Mr. Bruce 87, of Kolin, passed from this life on Sunday, November 2, 2014 at his residence. Mr. Bruce served in the United States Navy stationed at Pearl Harbor during the attack of December 7 1941. He was a member of Philadelphia Baptist Church and served as a Deacon and member of Joy Club. Mr. Bruce was an avid fisherman, hunter and was a member of Big Lake Hunting Club. He has been a great father and even better friend. We have been truly blessed to have been a part of his love and his life and we will miss him and his smile. He was preceded in death by his wife, Cecil Lucille LeBow Bruce; parents, Robert and Cecile Kershaw Bruce; brother, Bob Bruce and sister, Mary Leach. Those left to cherish his memory include his son, Keith Roman Bruce and wife, Peggy of Kolin; daughters, Madeline Bruce Babin and husband, Marty of Spring, Texas and Lynette Bruce Mullins and husband, James of Hubbard, Texas; sisters, Shirley Benson and husband, Tommy and Florence LaPoint; grandchildren, Camille Cami Bruce, Carmen Bruce, Zeph Mullins, Cleve Arlis Mullins and Cameron Babin and great grandchild, Landon Keith Bruce.
