1943 - 2015 Roy Eugene Wells, age 71, passed away on April 24, 2015 after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Roy was born on September 17, 1943 in Crowder, Mississippi. Roy graduated from Crowder High School and went on to attend Northwest Community College and Delta State University. After graduating from college, Roy began his 35 year career with DuPont in Memphis, Tennessee. He went on to work in Wilmington, Delaware; Houston, Texas; DeLisle, Mississippi; Penns Grove, New Jersey and Beaumont, Texas. Roy retired from DuPont in 2001 and moved to Tomball to be closer to his family. Roy spent countless hours doing what he loved best, gardening. He was always known for having the best looking yard in the neighborhood. Roy was a devoted husband, father and granddaddy. He enjoyed watching his grandchildren play football, baseball, soccer, volleyball and basketball. He was their #1 fan. He always made sure the referees and umpires were making the right calls. Roy was preceded in death by his parents, Doyle and Lillie Mae Wells and brother, Jack. He is survived by his devoted wife of over 50 years, Judy Elliott Wells, his daughters: Donna Wells Ausmus and husband David, Melissa Wells Hubble and husband Dwane, Jennifer Wells Jones and husband Reece. He also leaves behind eight grandchildren, Rainer and Olivia Ausmus, Sarah, Emily, Jack and Reed Hubble and Joey and Claire Jones. Survivors also include his brothers and sisters: Doyle Wells, Dorothy Hickman, Mamie Noble, Betty Antwine and Jimmy Wells. A visitation will be held on Friday, May 1, 2015 from 1:00 - 2:00 PM at Klein Funeral Home in Tomball, immediately followed by a Memorial Service at 2:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that contributions be made to , PO Box 50, Memphis, Tennessee 38101-9929.
