1921 - 2016 Ruby Woodson Ledet, 95, of Groves, Texas passed away peacefully at her home with her family at her side on Monday, May 10, 2016. She was born on April 21, 1921 to Addie Quebedeaux Woodson and Elmo Woodson in Port Arthur, Texas. Ruby was raised in Port Arthur and graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in 1940. She has been a resident of Groves for over 56 years. Ruby was a member of St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church in Groves, where she served in the altar society in her younger years. She was a devoted homemaker to her family and enjoyed spending time with all her family. She enjoyed dancing with her husband, Fred at the Pompano Club until he passed away. She was preceded in death by her parents, her two brothers and three sisters, her husband, Fred A. Ledet. She is survived by her daughters, Michele Beaumont of Groves, Kimberly Moss and husband, Walter of Tuscon, Arizona, Wendy Pettit and husband, Jerry of Katy, Texas, her son, Tim Ledet of Port Neches, Texas, 8 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren along with numerous nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews. Visitation for family and friends will be on Saturday, May 14, 2016 from Noon until service time at Clayton Thompson Funeral Home in Groves. Service to honor Ruby's life will be at 2:00 PM Saturday in the Thompson Memorial Chapel at Clayton Thompson with Rev. J. C. Coon, officiating. Entombment will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park.
