Sarah Jane Fowler, age 90 died Tuesday, February 19, 2013 in Beaumont, TX. Services will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, February 23, 2013 at Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel in Beaumont. Visitation will be on Friday, February 22, 2013 from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at Forest Lawn Funeral Home. Mrs. Fowler was born in Saratoga, TX on March 27, 1922 to the late Elmo and Lula Mae Teel Erwin. She graduated from South Park High School and married Lt. Col. Robert Fowler, Sr. As an United States Air Force wife, she traveled the world and lived in Germany. Where ever the Air Force took her she volunteered with the Red Cross, Stephen Ministry and military hospitals. Sarah loved to needle point, garden and paint. She loved angels in fabric, print and ceramic artwork. She was a devoted Wife, Mother and caring friend to many. Her faith was foremost in her daily life. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lt. Col. Robert Fowler, Sr. parents, Elmo Erwin and Lula Mae Teel Erwin. Grandson, Benjamin Venable, two brothers, CJ Erwin and Bill Erwin. Two sisters, Yevonne Allardyce and Emily Pearl Watson. Survivors include her son Robert Fowler, Jr. and her daughter Sarah Ellen Venable, two sisters-in-law, Josephine White and June Dudley. Four grandchildren, Christopher Shannon, Brian Venable, Matthew Venable and Adam Fowler. Eight great grandchildren, Matthew Shannon, Jamie Shannon, Iris Fowler, Hayden Venable, Logan Venable, Bryce Venable, Lance Venable and Hyla Venable.
