Steve lived many lives. He was an innovative and creative artist. He was a brilliiant free thinker with a great sense of wit. He was a forgiver. He was a man of the South. Most of all he was a loving and protecting husband to my Sister, Lisette. I will always remember him with gratitude for the life that intersected ours.

I took 3 drawing courses from him some years ago...he was always honest and straight forward, and helped me in so many ways. I really adored him, and was crushed to hear yesterday of his passing. Blessings on his family and friends; everyone who knew him understands how many people he impacted...all those lovers of art and students of life. He was a great teacher. Rest in peace dear man.

I met Steve in 1962 when I taught watercolor at Lamar. I felt that he was really talented and tried to keep my critiques to a minimum. Later he came to teach at Lamar and was an honored colleague. Bob
