Thelma Donese Moore Skinner Jones, 87, of Sour Lake died Tuesday, Nov. 26, 2013 at Harbor Hospice in Beaumont. Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 30, at Call Junction Baptist Church in Call Junction with Pastor Berkley Boyd officiating. Burial will be at Magnolia Springs Cemetery in Magnolia Springs. Visitation will be from 5-8 pm Friday at Adams EE Stringer Funeral Home in Kirbyville. Born in Pitkin, LA on February 14, 1926. Thelma was the daughter of Simon Doyle Moore and Lina Adaline Easters. Simon and Lina had 10 children and Thelma was the baby of the family. Thelma started her early career working at the Shipyard in Orange, TX. She went on to work at the telephone company in Jasper and Beaumont for many years and later in life retired as a Rural Letter Carrier in Kirbyville, TX. She enjoyed being a Rock Hound and was a member of Jasper and DeRidder Gem and Mineral Club. Thelma enjoyed displaying her rocks for others to see. She did this as often as she could, sharing her love for Rocks. Anyone that visited her home got an extensive tour of her rock collection. Her collection can now be seen at the Jasper Memorial Museum in Jasper, TX. Thelma was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She spent many hours keeping grandchildren and baking pies over the years. She is preceded in death by her husband, H.H. Buddy Jones and her daughter, Brenda Sharon Skinner, her parents, Simon and Lina Moore and her siblings. Thelma leaves behind her son, Paul Mike Skinner and wife Cindy of Sour Lake; son, William Bill Skinner and wife Sue of Beaumont, TX; daughter Sheryl Bolton and husband Jeff of Bridge City, TX. Also surviving are her grandchildren; Michelle Skinner and Ryan Skinner of Sour Lake, TX; Greg Bolton, his wife Kelly of Spring, TX; Eric Bolton, his wife Megan of Spring, TX; Adam Skinner, his wife Jennifer of Atascosita, TX; and Aaron Skinner of Beaumont. Thelma is also survived by 5 great grandchildren. Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Greg Bolton, Ryan Skinner, Adam Skinner, Eric Bolton, Aaron Skinner, and son in law Jeff Bolton. Thank you to our friends ar Collier Park and Harbor Hospice in Beaumont for taking such good care of our loved one! We love and miss Thelma already!
