Thelma Ray Cox Stalsby, 84, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, July 26th, 2012, in Cookeville, TN. She was born in Galveston, Texas, May 2, 1928, to Dolores Anastasia Roché and Raymond Norman Cox, who preceded her in death. A graduate of Ursuline Academy in Galveston, she retired in the 80's as a secretary from Heist Corporation in Texas City, Texas. T.R. is survived by two sons; Capt. David E. Farris of Sante Fe, TX, and Rod Stalsby (Linda Smith) of Irving, TX; three daughters; Lynda Ryan of Beaumont, TX, Marcia Geheb (Mike) of Cookeville, TN, Julia Durdin (Eddie Vasquez) of Santa Fe, TX.; and two step daughters; Anne Babb (Robert) of Vidor, TX and Barbara Speed (Jim) of Beaumont, TX. Also surviving her is one brother, Raymond Louis Cox (Edith) of Dickinson, TX; and one sister, Norma Theresa Sugar Sorensen of La Marque, TX. She also leaves behind six grandchildren: Matt Ryan (Susan Kolls) of Sour Lake, TX, Megan Ryan of The Woodlands, TX, Ryan and Leah Stalsby of Irving, TX, Major Dallas Geheb of Germany, Alyse Durdin of Sante Fe, TX; and two great grandchildren, Nick and Kate Ryan of Sour Lake, TX; cousins and numerous nieces and nephews also survive her. Per her request, there will be no memorial service. Graveside services are pending at Galveston County Memorial Park in Hitchcock, Texas. Funeral arrangements by Oak Lawn Funeral Home, Sparta, TN.
