The Guest Book is expired.

1930-2015 John Thomas Davis, M.D. passed away on September 18, 2015, at 85 years of age. John was born on August 9, 1930, in Seguin, Texas. At a young age, he became a classical pianist and continued to love music throughout his life, whether playing the organ in church, accompanying his children on stringed instruments, or sitting down to play a melody as his wife reminisced about a dance tune from the past. After graduating from Texas Lutheran College, and the University of Texas at Austin, John graduated from the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston Alpha Omega Alpha, practicing medicine throughout Texas including Galveston, Dallas, Beaumont, Temple, and Austin. John was also an active member of his Catholic faith, serving on the finance council, while his wife served on the bereavement committee. But his true love and purpose in life was his childhood sweetheart and wife of 55 years, Mary Frances Purcell Davis and their eight children, 17 grandchildren, and six great grandchildren. He enjoyed weekends and picnics in the country with his family, a love of nature that he passed on to his children. John was preceded in death by his beloved wife Mary Frances, his parents Hugh and Bertha Davis, and his young grandson Benjamin Davis. John is survived by his children Gretchen and John Fasulo, Teresa and Michael Hurd, Brigid Davis, Jane Davis, Colette and John Pena, Mary Davis, John and Jane Marie Davis, and Stephen and Shelly Davis; his grandchildren Richard and Summer Fasulo, Robert Fasulo, John and Jordan Fasulo, Heather Fasulo, Amy and Eric Cleaver, Elizabeth and Michael Gouge, Stephanie Fasulo, Nicholas Pena, Jacob Pena, Matthew Pena, Ambrose Davis, Daniel Davis, Elizabeth Davis, Joachim Davis, Margaret Mary Davis, and Rachel Davis; and his great grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother-in-law, nephews, nieces, and cousins. The rosary is Tuesday, September 22, at 7 p.m. at Beck Funeral Home in Austin, Texas, preceded by visitation from 6-7 p.m. The funeral mass is Wednesday, September 23, at 1 p.m. at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Austin, Texas, followed by a reception at the church and burial at Our Lady of the Rosary Cemetery near Georgetown, Texas.
