1926 - 2014 Thomas Milton Megas, age 87, passed away Friday July 11, 2014 in Beaumont, Texas. Services will be at 2:00 PM at Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be 2 hours prior to the service at the funeral home. Mr. Megas was born in Maryville, CA on October 20, 1926 to the late Nickolas Megas and Anna Katherine Johnson Megas. He received his Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Texas A&M University where he was a member of the Corp of Cadets. After serving briefly in WWII in the Marines he pursued his career in engineering until his father's death, at which time he took over the family business, Beaumont Cleaners and Hatworks. He also worked for Bethlehem Steel until his retirement. He is preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Agnes Madere Megas, his parents and one son, Matthew Megas. Survivors include a son, Thomas Christopher Megas of Beaumont, TX. Three daughters; Kay Fondrick and her husband John, of Vidor, TX, Sandra Walding and her husband Anthony of Spring, TX and Carolyn Martindale and her husband Mike of Beaumont, TX. Six grandchildren; Robert Walding and his wife Nikki, Erica Walding, Jason Fondrick, Michael Fondrick, Mallory Martindale and Devin Martindale, as well as six great-grandchildren.
