1917 - 2016 Virginia Lee McMahan Helpinstill, 99, of Bellaire and formerly Beaumont, Texas, died September 26 of natural causes. She was born February 7, 1917 in Bay City, Texas to John Wesley McMahan and Eileen Culwell, and was the last remaining member of a family of five brothers and sisters. She was predeceased by her husband of 59 years, C. T. Jake Helpinstill in 1998. She is survived by her daughter Nancy Helpinstill of Glendale, California, son Ezra Charles Helpinstill, grandson Jake Helpinstill and granddaughter Chloe Helpinstill, all of Bellaire, Texas. The family will receive friends from 9:00 to 11:00 AM Monday morning, Oct. 3, at the First Methodist Church in Downtown Houston, followed by the funeral service. A graveside service and interment will be Tuesday morning at 11:00 AM in Beaumont at Forest Lawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorial donations to Trinity Methodist Church of Beaumont.
