1921 - 2014 Wade Arride Fontenot, 92, of China, passed away on Wednesday, July 16, 2014 at his residence. Mr. Fontenot was born November 23, 1921 in Chatagnier, Louisiana to his parents Olide and Ophelia Guillory Fontenot who preceded him in death. Also preceding him in death was his son A.L. Fontenot. Mr. Fontenot has been a resident of the China area since 1940. He worked for Winton Gas Company for 15 years as a plumber and then established his own plumbing company in China known as China Plumbing and Supply. After retirement, he served as a foreman at the Wagon Wheel Ranch in Hunt, Texas for 10 years. Mr. Fontenot enjoyed gardening, fishing, hunting, attending auctions and most of all was an outstanding husband and father always providing for his family's need. He is survived by his loving wife of 73 years, Lee Anna Fontenot of China; his son, Donnie Fontenot of China; daughters, Terrie Breeden and husband Cal of Sour Lake, Terea McEachern and husband Lou of Cheek, Tonya Allen and husband Richard of Lumberton; daughter-in-law, Sharon Fontenot of Sour Lake; 11 Grandchildren; 16 Great Grandchildren; 4 Great-Great Grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Friday from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Forest Lawn Funeral Home in Beaumont. Funeral Services will be held 2:00 PM, Saturday, July 19, 2014 at the First Baptist Church of China with burial to follow at the China Cemetery in China.
