Walter Wade Edwards, 62, passed away on Wednesday, May 29, 2013. He was a native and lifelong resident of Beaumont. Walter worked in the railroad industry for over 40 years and retired with an unblemished safety record, receiving numerous accolades for his dedication and superior work ethic. He also engaged in the rental of affordable housing, spanning a period of over 35 years. Survivors include his devoted wife of 39 years, Agnes; his four daughters, Mary, Cyndi, Rachel and Jocelyn; and grandson, Caleb. He is also survived by six sisters, Geraldine, Gladys, Brenda, Marva, Sandra and Glenda; five brothers, Kenneth, David, Donald, Michael, and Robert; many dearly loved in-laws, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. A wake will be held on Thursday, June 6, 2013, from 6 PM to 8 PM, at Calvary Mortuary Chapel. Funeral services are scheduled to convene at 12:00 Noon, on Friday, June 7, 2013, at Borden Chapel Baptist Church, with visitation from 10 AM to time of service, also at the church. Entombment will follow at Magnolia Mausoleum.
