Reverend Wayne Cardwell, 56, of DeQuincy, died Saturday, August 11, 2012, at Lake Charles Memorial Hospital surrounded by his loving family. He was born December 13, 1955, in Minden and moved to DeQuincy at the age of nine. Reverend Cardwell and family evangelized across North America for twelve years. He also Co-Pastored First Pentecostal Church with his father Reverend T.D. Cardwell. Reverend Cardwell was pastor of Park Drive Pentecostal Church in McComb, Mississippi for four years, then he was elected pastor of the First Pentecostal Church of DeQuincy where he served for the last nine and a half years. Survivors include his wife, Teresa Copeland Cardwell; children, Nilah Reed and her husband, Randle, Nicholas Cardwell and finance', Whitney Graham; grandsons, Brock, Braylon and Brendyn; parents, Reverend and Mrs. T.D. Cardwell; and sisters, Glenda Hodges and her husband, Doug, of Ragley; and Lanell Watson and her husband, Doug of, Linn Valley, Kansas. A gathering of Reverend Cardwell's family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m., Monday, August 13, 2012, at First Pentecostal Church, 230 Smith Street, DeQuincy, under the direction of Broussard's. His funeral service will be at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, August 14, 2012, at the church, with interment to follow at Restlawn Memorial Park, FM 105, Vidor, Texas.
