West Young, Jr., 88, of Beaumont, TX, passed away on Wednesday, August 22, 2012, at Memorial Hermann Baptist Hospital in Beaumont. He was born in Branch, LA to the late West and Alma Young, Sr. He was a U. S. Army veteran. West later made Beaumont his home, where he met and married his bride, Arrilla Bryant of Rockhill, TX, on November 9, 1946. There was never a dull moment in their home, where they raised their 12 children with lots of love and discipline. West retired after 42 years of service as a forklift operator at Malone and Hyde. He was preceded in death by his son, Kenneth Morris Young; 4 brothers, and 2 sisters. West leaves precious memories to his loving wife of 65 years, Arrilla Young of Beaumont; sons and their wives, Jimmie and Doris Young, Wesley and Joyce Young, Hardy and Yvette Young, Robert Young, John and Lisa Young, Rev. Jerry and Barbara Young, Ricky and Karen Young, and Ronald Young of Beaumont; daughters and husbands, Barbara and Michael Howard, of Baltimore, MD, Linda and Ronald Birdsong, and Bertha and Rev. Allen Williams of Beaumont; sisters, Virginia Yokum of Lafayette, LA and Mary Jane Fontenot of Beaumont; 34 grandchildren; 39 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild; a loving host of other relatives and many friends. Celebration of Life services for West will begin with a visitation on Monday, August 27, 2012, from 1:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m., at Comeaux Community Funeral Chapel. There will be another visitation from 9:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m., on Tuesday, August 28, 2012, at McKinley Ave. Baptist Church, 775 Cuniff St., in Beaumont, followed by the funeral service at 11:00 a.m., officiated by Rev. Allen Williams. Until the Trumpets Sound, West will begin his Earthly Rest at Zion Hill Cemetery in Jasper, TX, under the professional direction and care of the Comeaux Community Funeral Chapel staff.
