1917 - 2016 Wilbur Nook Griffin, 98, of Silsbee, passed away Monday, January 18, 2016. Nook was born in Port Arthur on July 28, 1917. He proudly served his country in WWII in the U.S. Navy aboard the U.S.S. Enterprise. During the war, he met his wife, Rowena, and married August 5, 1943. After the war, he became an electrician, working all over the world. He was a member of the Sour Lake Christian Church. Nook is survived by his wife of 72 years, Rowena Griffin of Silsbee; son, Jeff Griffin and wife Debi of Colorado; daughter, Shauna Scarborough and husband Alton of Silsbee; granddaughter Annie Griffin of Colorado; great grandson Max Griffin of Colorado and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, C.F. and Ida Griffin; 4 brothers and 2 sisters. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
