Rosalie Halbouty Maye departed this life to be with her Heavenly Father and His Son Jesus Christ on Sunday, the 27th of October 2013. She was a very loving and giving woman who cared deeply for her fellow man as well as her family members on who she lavished unconditional love and devotion. Devotion unparalleled by only a few. She was a woman who loved deeply and vehemently and was generous and very thoughtful throughout her life in so many loving ways. She obtained her education from Beaumont High School in Beaumont, and attended UCLA in Los Angeles and continued her education at the University of Texas where she received a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree. She also attended the University of Houston to achieve a Master's of Education degree. She was extremely dedicated to her teaching profession and strived consistently to enhance her education and her knowledge. She was an extraordinary teacher and was greatly loved and revered by so many of her students by influencing them to achieve success and strive for greatness. In 1956, the year book of French High School in Beaumont was dedicated to her. In Houston, she taught at Spring Woods High School and San Jacinto High School. Many of her students excelled at life, some became doctors, some lawyers and some gravitated to the political arena. She will live in the hearts and memories of every person who was fortunate enough to be on the receiving end of her knowledge and her benevolence. Her husband of 46 years, John Patrick Maye, preceded her in death on the 14th of May 2012. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Sodia and Thomas Halbouty, five brothers, I.J., Michael T., James J., Dr. M. Robert and Zackey Halbouty. She is survived by many nieces, nephews, great nephews, great nieces, and god daughter, Karen Konduros Knowles. We love you dearest Aunt Rosalie today, tomorrow and until we are all united in heaven with you, God and His Son Jesus Christ. May God keep her in His infinite care. She will be missed greatly, loved beyond measure and remembered forever by the many she blessed with her graciousness, generosity and tender loving heart. We cannot feel life's losses without first feeling the blessings of its fullness. Sorrow is a fleeting emotion but love is infinite.
