Cuban Shankle Sr., 83, of Beaumont, went from labor to reward on Monday, February 3, 2014, at Jefferson Nursing and Rehabilitation Center after a lengthy illness. Mr. Shankle retired from Baptist Hospital as Environmental Service Director in 1996 and was owner of Shankle's Janitorial Service for 34 years. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jewel Shankle; four brothers and three sisters. Those left to cherish his memory are son, Cuban Jr. and daughter, Judy Amons of Beaumont; four sisters, Vasie Harris of Beaumont; Macie Green (Milton) and Telee Allen of Orange; Curley Jean Savoir-Tanner of Lake Charles; one brother, Guyler Shankle of Lake Charles; Two grandsons, Shadrick Amons of Beaumont; And Ter-kel Amons of Lake Jackson; three granddaughters, Yuri Amons of Houston; Cathryn Morgan (Travon) of Beaumont; and Leshonda King (Jason) of Atlanta Georgia; and four great grandchildren. Visitation for Mr. Shankle will be Friday Feb. 7, 2014, from 12 to 5 at Mercy Funeral Home. Celebration of life services will be held on Saturday, Feb. 8, 2014, at 2:00 p.m. at Borden Chapel Baptist Church. Burial will be in Shankleville Community Cemetery under the professional care of Mercy Funeral Home.
